Computer driver is actually a program that allows the windows system to efficiently connect with a device on your computer. With the help of a driver, the windows system can order the device and also makes it to implement the operations. Also, without the driver, using a camera, scanner, printer or any other hardware is not possible. Also, few invalid operations can easily delete or corrupt the driver files and when any of the file is missing or corrupt, the device would not work properly. In that case, there is a need to reinstall your driver in order to make your device function properly.

The major idea behind using new drivers is actually to enhance the performance besides fixing the problems if there are any and also improve security in order to prevent problems with Trojans or viruses. With up-to-date drivers, your computer will operate more smoothly and efficiently. On the contrary, outdated drivers will lead to several conflicts with different functions in the computer and can thus cause many errors in the system. Thus, it is always advisable to update the drivers periodically. Besides, there are two ways of updating the drivers- you can easily download them automatically or manually. If you wish to download the drivers manually, then you first need to know about the devices you are dealing with and their latest versions. To check out the devices which you are using in the system, you need to access Device Manager. For this, you can either go to the control panel or through a simple click on My Computer as per the kind of operating system installed in the computer. Your Device Manager would display all the devices which are there in the PC and you can open all the devices to find out the ones, which are installed by you. You can then click on update driver to download and install the newest version of your driver.
