A Little Known Way to Optimize Your PC: Just Move It!

Did you know that just choosing the right location for your computer can make it perform faster and better? Moving the computer to a place in your home or office that can maximize its functionality and performance is a good thing to optimize it. But how do you know where to put it? Where’s the best place to move your computer? This article will show you some simple truths about how your computer location can affect the way the computer performs and how to optimize its performance just by moving it to a better place. Computers are just like humans. They need to be well groomed and pampered to be able to work and respond better. A dirty computer will not function properly just like a person who have not taken two meals in a day. The computer needs to be at the right place to work better and last longer.

Free from Dust

The computer should be located in a place that does not gather up dust that easily. If you live by the roadside or if your place is windy all the time, avoid placing the computer near an open window. Although it is properly ventilated, the dust in the air will be caught up in the computer fans and gather over time eventually clogging air passage that is needed by the processors for the computer to not overheat. Also, do not comb you or your pet’s hair near the computer because of the fact that the computer sucks up air. If that air carries pet hair with it and get caught up in the fan, overheating will be on its way soon.

Ventilated Area

A nicely ventilated place is a perfect location for the computer as it needs ample cool temperature to continue processing without ever burning up. Never keep your computer is a closed space like a cabinet. Open air is a must for computers as they require constant cool air ranging from 15-20 degrees below the central processing units known temperature. Moreover, ventilated area dries up moisture that can gather up and damage the computer’s hardware components.

Keep it Above the Floor

Make sure that your computer is placed about 6-10 inches above the floor. This is to protect your computer from accidental water spills or floods or even minor water leaks. Keeping the computer above also lessens the number of debris the computer may suck from the air around it. Imagine how much air particles and dust can be sucked if your computer is sitting on a carpet and then your cat sleeps near its CPU. Also, putting your computer above the ground stops anyone from accidentally knocking it over. Safety should be the first rule.

Keep Cords Safe

Computer cords and other wires are hazardous to anyone when they are just left down on the floor unkempt. Someone might get tripped and accidentally unplugged a running computer, damaging files in the system. Also, accidental unplugging of cords may result to fires. Keep cord out of the way and away from any forms of water like jugs of juice or cups of coffee. You know what I mean.
